A problem faced by transfer students is the inability for them to connect regularly to new faces in a classroom or a school. The fact of being placed in a new environment makes it uneasy for a new student to engage in social interactions openly. Similarly, like many other students, it takes time to meet new people and establish long-lasting friendships. For a new transfer student to meet others, I recommend being active in college by joining clubs or attending social events where there is a group of individuals with like interests. Also, as a new student, don’t be afraid to break the ice with other students and engage them in small conversations.
